The Boone County Attorney’s Office serves as legal counsel for local county government. In this capacity, the County Attorney’s Office attends Fiscal Court meetings, and represents and advises the Fiscal Court in all business, rights, or interests of the County. When the Fiscal Court so directs, the County Attorney’s Office must conduct civil actions in which the County is a party before any of the Courts of the Commonwealth. While serving in this representative capacity, the County Attorney is not a member of the Fiscal Court, nor does the County Attorney vote on Fiscal Court matters or set policy.

In addition to tending to matters of the Fiscal Court, the County Attorney’s Office also advises and represents county officers and offices in all matters concerning county business.
